Are We There Yet?
As it relates to the economy, this is a reasonable question but unfortunately doesn't have a simple answer. But then again, nothing seems to be simple anymore. Sometimes I miss the days before the internet and smart phones when you only had three choices for news-channel 2, 4, or 5. As humans we just can't seem to get enough news information quick enough anymore, which has created the demand for too much news. Now I'm not saying that we should have news suppressed from us, but with so much competition for news there is now too much editorialization. For instance, is the recession over or is it getting worse? I guess it just depends on which news service you're listening to, and whether or not you subscribe to the "sky is falling" mentality. From my perspective, it is on the road to recovery, but it's a long and bumpy road. In fact, it may not ever be the way it was, but we'll adapt appropriately. People in general will not continue to hold back on spending forever because at some point we realize that life is short and I want what I want when I want it. We will figure out how to save up and get the new bike or new car, it just may be a different way to get there than we've done in the past. So instead of asking if we're there yet, we should be asking where are we headed and how are we going to get there. We're not in Kansas anymore.
